A Legacy of Support for Christian Health

Tom and Linda Dykhouse have been longtime faithful supporters of Christian Health, as both donors and volunteers, with a family history that began at the organization’s very inception.

“It goes back to well before I was born,” said Tom. “My great-grandfather was one of the founding deacons of Christian Health. My family has been connected to the organization since 1911 and that has continued through subsequent generations.”

The Dykhouses are so committed to our mission to provide compassionate care to our community that they have decided to leave an unrestricted planned gift to Christian Health in their estate plans.

Through the financial blessing of their planned gift, the Dykhouses are following what they believe is their calling to contribute to the mission of Christian Health to foster health, healing, and wellness. “We want Christian Health to thrive long after we’re gone,” said Tom.

The Dykhouses’ contributions to our mission go way beyond their generous donations. Tom has served Christian Health as a board member and is the current chair of the Christian Health Board of Trustees. Their three children, Kristin, Michael, and Kimberly, all worked at Christian Health in their youth. Today, Michael serves as a volunteer and Kristin is a social worker at Christian Health. So many of their family members, past and present, have contributed their time, talent, and donations to help Christian Health serve the community.

The Dykhouses have also had many family members and friends who were residents and patients at Christian Health over the years, including Linda’s mother, who is a current resident of Evergreen Court.

“We’ve had that connection where we’ve seen the wonderful services delivered by Christian Health to people that we love,” said Tom. The Dykhouses are dedicated to the support of all those who need dignified care — the same way their family was cared for at Christian Health.

“The whole idea of being the hands of Christ in caring for others resonated very deeply with us,” said Tom. “We have always been moved by the incredible work of the staff and leaders at Christian Health, who compassionately care for those in our community. The choice to make a planned gift to Christian Health stems from our unwavering faith in the mission and incredible impact of the organization.”

By including Christian Health in their estate plans, the Dykhouses are helping ensure that vital programs and services continue to make a difference in the lives of countless individuals and families for years to come.

“It’s so gratifying to know that our last gift to Christian Health will allow us to leave a lasting legacy and help ensure that future generations will benefit from the invaluable support and resources provided by the organization,” they said. “We encourage others who share our passion for Christian Health’s mission to consider a planned gift and join us in making an investment in the future of Christian Health and the needs of our community.”
